Exaltation:
When a planet is in a sign where it feels most powerful and effective. It can express its highest qualities with ease.
Debilitation:
When a planet is in a sign where it feels weak or uncomfortable. It struggles to express its energy well and may give distorted or blocked results.

How to Interpret Exaltation & Debilitation
💪 Exalted Planet:
Acts like it’s in a position of honor.
Delivers strong, positive results (if well-placed).
Can bring fame, clarity, wisdom, leadership, etc., depending on the planet.
😓 Debilitated Planet:
Acts like it’s in a hostile or uncomfortable environment.
May feel insecure, blocked, or overly reactive.
Needs support (from aspects, conjunctions, house strength, etc.) to give good results.
🛠️ Important Notes
A debilitated planet isn't always "bad" — if cancelled (through Neecha Bhanga Raja Yoga), it can give excellent results after struggle.
An exalted planet can still act poorly if afflicted by malefics, combustion, or bad house placement.
Degrees matter — the closer to the exact exaltation degree, the stronger the effect.
✅ Examples
Moon exalted in Taurus at 3°: Stable emotions, calm mind, nurturing and consistent.
Mars exalted in Capricorn at 28°: Controlled action, disciplined energy, excellent leadership.
Venus debilitated in Virgo at 27°: Overly critical in love, challenges with self-worth or beauty.
Saturn exalted in Libra at 20°: Balanced discipline, fair leadership, long-term success.
